Exploring the gender and intersectionality dimension of employability in the microelectronics sector to help bridge the gender divide.


Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:

Knowledge:

Know what Intersectionality is

Understand Intersectional methodologies - inquiry and praxis

Be aware of the Pedagogical myths and their consequences in education

Seek to understand how sociohistorical, sociopolitical, and sociocultural factors create the gender disparities and how they can interrupt wrong patterns in their teaching and programming

Skills 

Identify how inclusion sometimes can go wrong

Resist Categorising or encouraging self-categorisation among students, if they aren’t completely or partly lacking some of the visual, auditory or kinesthetic abilities

Competence

Produce better plans that take individuals' complexity into consideration, offering better policies that get closer to the desired effects

Be aware of lecturers own influence's impact on student performance and motivation
